The Wedding Dress
by Suzanne Cotsakos on June 13th, 2014

I was very fortunate to be part of a really cool project. The very funny, very talented, Kimberly Aboltin wrote a few pilots that are incredible. She decided that it would be fun to get together a great group of actors (including herself, of course) and perform some scenes from a couple of her pilots, live.

I was cast in 'The Wedding Dress' which is a hilarious and heartfelt scene about the lead character, Kate, reluctantly deciding to sell her wedding dress when her fiancee breaks off their engagement for the second time.

Honestly, you have to see it. It's such a fun scene filled with incredible comedic actors. I was blown away in every rehearsal. It was such a great experience. And clearly, lots of laughs.

Here was the cast:
Kate (recently single and heartbroken): Kimberly Aboltin - extremely funny and creative, plus you really felt for her character. Kim is a gem.

Matt (Kate's ex fiancee): Tom Berklund - Tom is great. He really grounded the scene in reality which was a great contrast to the comedic chaos happening all around.

Brandon (Kates BFF): Mac Miller - he's so natural on stage. Sometimes (when we would rehearse) I couldn't tell if he was just talking or if it was his line. haha. So sweet too.

Miguel (Brandon's BF and Kates BFF): Jack Merrill - he is excellent at dryly delivering hilarious lines. A very powerful presence.

Amanda (Spoiled dress buyer): Farah Fath - extrememly funny and played the character perfectly, but she's so not like the character at all in real life. She's so nice and down to earth.

Sue (Amanda's tacky Mother): Jean Taylor - her comedic timing with this character was fantastic. I laugh just thinking about it.

Chloe (Amanda's "sick of it all" sister): Teya Patt has been a friend of mine for a long time. She is incredible and electric in any part she plays. love her.

I played, Erica, the 'always a bridemaid never a bride' quirky, loyal and unstable BFF of Amanda.

Plus, our scene was directed by the incredibly creative, knowledgable, & supportive, Deborah O'Neill. We couldn't have done it without her.

Oh! And that was just the scene I was in. The whole show was incredible. Truly.
I got to see amazing talent at work. So funny!
I can't wait to see the video of the show.
